Andros Townsend answers question if Manchester City are coming for Bukayo Saka
Andros Townsend said on talkSPORT that Bukayo Saka should leave Arsenal for Manchester City if he gets the chance.
The outgoing Crystal Palace winger believes that if City make an offer to Arsenal, the winger should leave.
Townsend said on talkSPORT when asked if Saka should move to City if an offer comes up, “Yeah, I would say. Man City is on a different level. No disrespect for Arsenal. Obviously, I’m not their biggest fan, but Man City are a step-up. If this offer comes up, of course you have to. “
Now, let’s clarify one thing.
It was a hypothetical question asked on the show in Townsend.
The former Tottenham Hotspur winger has not urged Saka to leave.
What Townsend was saying was that if Pep Guardiola’s City came for the 19-year-old England international then he would have to make the switch.
Another thing we need to clarify is that there is no credible Report that City want to sign Saka, who is a very versatile footballer and has played as a winger, full-back and central midfielder.
This was – let us repeat – a purely hypothetical question.
City are a wealthy club and have just won the Premier League title.
Manager Guardiola is not going anywhere, and if Saka does well next season and Arsenal struggle, then City may well decide to make an offer.
For now, Arsenal fans don’t have to worry about Saka’s future.
After all, the teenager seems happy at Arsenal and is playing regularly in the first team.
City have a strong squad, and while Saka is very talented, he’s unlikely to be able to play week after week.
