Club are looking to sign the Man City midfielder – Hopefully they can get him in the CL squad next season
Portuguese newspaper A bola presents a big story today featuring Manchester City midfielder Yangel Herrera as a potential reinforcement for Sporting this summer.
After the 23-year-old’s loan spell at Granada this season, he is now reportedly looking for a ‘new solution’ for his career.
A Bola points out that Herrera is not staying at the La Liga club as they cannot afford the € 20million buy option that was previously agreed with Manchester City.
The Premier League champions have a partnership with Sporting, which was agreed to last year, which makes it easier for players to move between clubs. Since Herrera has now joined the England club’s ‘loan list’, the move is seen as possible.
A Bola points out that Sporting are playing in the Champions League next season, which could be a good showcase for Herrera. But the Lions don’t seem interested in a permanent move, which means they have to wait and see what happens in the summer.
It is claimed that Herrera will meet with Manchester City officials and ‘explore possible solutions’. Then, in case he doesn’t stay in Pep Guardiola’s squad and there is no offer to sell, Sporting has a chance to get him to make a loan deal.
