DJ Bongz and the rest of South Africa are patiently waiting for Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx to pick a time and location for the two-celebrity’s much-anticipated dance battle.

In June 2021, the actor took to Instagram, in which Foxx made the stinky leg dance – a dance that closely resembles Bongz’s signature movement. Shortly after the video was released, DJ Bongz called it that; her signature dance Gwara Gwara.

According to ZAlebs, Bongz was impressed and even applauded the actor before teaching him who created the dance, “I started doing the Gwara Gwara dance in 2016… when I was shooting my music video [for] Ofana Nawe just google it… you’ll see, ”he said.
Foxx suggested the two go head-to-head to see who does it better.
DJ Bongz wasted no time responding by saying that he was already warming up and waiting for the time and place.
“Just a warm-up for our dance battle. I will wait for the place and time of the battle,” he captioned his video.

In 2018, DJ Bongz weighed his legal options after his popular dance move was used by a multitude of American musicians, including Rihanna and Childish Gambino, in shows and music videos.
Mzansi burst into applause when Childish Gambino’s This is america The music video was created and showed the muso breaking up a young Gwara Gwara. It happened just a few months after Rihanna danced in a Grammy performance. According to Sowetan Live, that made DJ Bongz take notes.

At the time, copyright attorney Graeme Gilfillan disputed Bongz’s claim that it was possible to score a dance move.
