Former Toon midfielder Dan Barlaser shows off his dance moves after cup win

Former Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser celebrated his win for Rotherham United in hilarious style.

The former young Toon’s side won 3-2 against Sutton United after the match went to extra time. After the match ended, Barlaser was filmed dancing in the locker room.

Barlaser joined permanently in 2020 after spending a season on loan before. He impressed in League One, proving to be one of Rotherham’s standout players.

Barlaser has regained his level since leaving Newcastle

It was clearly not intended for the 25-year-old. But at Rotherham he is proving to be a key player for them. Barlaser is in a central midfield role, often as a midfielder.

When he was first signed up at Newcastle he was a winger. But over time, he moved more centrally into midfield. Moreover, he has been cited as one of the best midfielders in all of Ligue 1.

The Millers are pushing for promotion to the Championship. Currently they are top of the league but Wigan and MK Dons are hot on their heels in 2nd and 3rd place.

Barlaser will want to prove he can take the next step. The last time he played in this league, he found it difficult. But with more experience under his belt, he will have a lot more confidence. In addition, he still has many years of career left. So he has plenty of time to improve his game.

Another familiar face is also part of the Rotherham team. Shane Ferguson also plays for them, which he joined in the summer of 2021. He joined Millwall permanently after leaving Newcastle in 2016 until joining the Millers.

Ferguson, like Barlaser, found himself to be a consistent starter for Rotherham. Some Newcastle fans will be proud to see them succeed elsewhere even if it doesn’t work out for them at Tyneside.
