Manchester City have once again taken home the biggest individual prizes after an incredible domestic season, following a string of Premier League awards handed out throughout Saturday afternoon.
Kevin de Bruyne has been named PFA Player of the Season for the second consecutive campaign, after another outstanding individual season which saw him lead Pep Guardiola’s side to another Premier League title.
While for PFA Young Player of the Season, Manchester City’s Phil Foden joined a sparkling roster of talent including Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Eden Hazard to take home the award.
Speaking on the award winners, Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain praised the duo.
On the Belgian playmaker, Begiristain says ManCity.com, “We are delighted to see Kevin win this award again. Winning it once is a superb achievement – but winning over successive seasons is special. Only the best handle this. “

“He is a world class player who regularly produces very high quality performances. Kevin’s influence off the pitch is also growing. Not only is he a player who can influence matches and produce key moments with his technical quality, he is a leader for this football club and a shining example for our young players on how to behave if you want to be a high level professional.. “
“We are very proud of him and I am sure he will continue at this level for many years to come., he closed.
The club’s director of football continued on the subject of Phil Foden, praising his evolution from an inexperienced youth academy perspective to a key part of Pep Guardiola’s first team.
Begiristain says ManCity.com, “Phil is a perfect example of what hard work and dedication can do for you. From the first day I arrived here, I saw someone determined to be the best they can be.“
“Yes, he has talent and an individual quality, but without the hard work he puts in every day, he wouldn’t be where he is right now. Credit must go to every member of our academy staff who played a role in getting Phil to this point. His success is a direct result of all their efforts and an example for every young Manchester City player who dreams of one day establishing himself in our first team.. “
