New stamps depict the legend of King Arthur

The legend of King Arthur is to be informed in a sequence of latest stamps issued by the Royal Mail.
The ten stamps, which characteristic authentic paintings by idea artist Jaime Jones, depict key moments in King Arthur’s life.
Royal Mail mentioned the story of King Arthur, that includes the sword in a stone, the Knights of the Spherical Desk and the wizard Merlin has “captivated individuals for a millennium and a half”.
The legend of King Arthur has been informed numerous instances by means of books and films.

Among the many designs is a picture of Merlin holding child Arthur, whereas one other exhibits King Arthur marrying Guinevere.
Different stamps within the assortment embody younger Arthur pulling the sword out of the stone, the Knights of the Spherical Desk and Sir Lancelot beating the dragon.

Philip Parker, of the Royal Mail, mentioned: “These atmospheric illustrations carry the timeless tales of the King and the Knights of the Spherical Desk to life.
“With its themes of magic, chivalry and quests, the everlasting legend of King Arthur has fascinated for hundreds of years and can proceed to take action.”
The stamps will go on sale from March 16, 2021.
