On tiptoe, the TikTok Turtle Point Scale weighs 175 lbs.
“I would really like to be more aware of that. And it’s something I make sure to put forward to other people when they ask me questions like, ‘Oh, should I have a turtle? Are they difficult to take care of? Doran said. “Because they are not difficult animals to care for, however, you have to be prepared to take care of them for life.”
What was once a heavy load to provide relentless care for a 175 lb. turtle through the varying stages of childhood, has slowly but surely become a source of care for Doran herself.
“Before doing all this with Tiptoe, I had a very intensive job with crazy hours. And now that I’m working full time on Tiptoe, it’s crazy how much happier I am,” she said. declared.
When Doran lost her job at the start of the pandemic, she began to notice videos on TikTok of parents preparing complex breakfasts for their children. She was already making colorful plates of fruits and vegetables for Tiptoe every day, so she started recording it. When she started to get a good answer, she came out of her shell and made a plan to take him away.
upper level meals.
“I started making crazy meals for him like tacos with grated carrots and watermelon and squash burgers,” Doran recalls. “Almost everything I usually ate in my day, I have it ‘turtle style’ and did something for Tiptoe, so he can enjoy the good stuff too.”

Doran may be running the social media side of Tiptoe’s culinary life, but she isn’t the only one investing in creating complex meals for him.
“My mom is one of my biggest helpers. And she and I together organize these food ideas,” Doran explained.

With 19 years of complicity, Tiptoe is more than a source of lightness for the Doran family. It is an integral part of their life. And according to Doran, that will never change.
“Tiptoe has been with me all my life. It was at my graduation from college, high school and university. At every milestone in my life, tiptoe has been there,” said Doran.
“At this point in my life, I’m so comfortable with the fact that I’m going to be tiptoeing for the rest of my life.”
