New Delhi, November 26 After his superb performance on the pitch in his test debut for India against New Zealand, elegant drummer Shreyas Iyer also impresses everyone with his dance moves off the pitch.
The 26-year-old had a fantastic century making his test debut on Friday. He became the 16th Indian batter (10th at home) to score a century on his Test debut.
The Mumbai-born cricketer also became the second Indian hitter after Gundappa Viswanath (against Australia in 1969) to score a 100 Test on his Kanpur debut. He was fired for 105 runoffs out of 171 deliveries by Tim Southee.
Impressed with Iyer’s kick, Indian opener Rohit Sharma posted a hilarious dance clip to Instagram featuring himself, Iyer and Shardul Thakur, congratulating the drummer on his achievement.
The trio are not only teammates of the Indian national team, but have also played together for the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team for several years.
“Well done @ shreyas41 who made all the right moves,” Rohit Sharma wrote on Instagram with the video.
In the video that went viral on social media, the three cricketers can be seen dancing to the remixed version of the famous song “Koi Sehri Babu”, with catchy movements.
Meanwhile, Iyer also took to social media and said he would save moments from the Kanpur test for the rest of his life.
“From receiving my Sunil Gavaskar Sir test cap to representing my country in red ball cricket, I will carry these two days with me for the rest of my life. Thank you all for your wishes, my love, and incredible support, ”Iyer tweeted.
