A young dance group in Bedfordshire is getting carried away after receiving a financial boost for new equipment.
Gifford Dance Academy in Stotfold, Bedfordshire, has received a team sport prize of £250 from UK Power Networks, the company which distributes electricity in the east of England.
Employee Noel Jukes, regional manager at UK Power Networks, applied for the award because his daughter, Scarlett, is part of the dance group which started in 2015 and now has more than 100 youngsters training every week.
Noel helps the club organize dance events, including moving and delivering mats to competitions or classes.
Rebecca Gifford, Head Coach of Gifford Dance Academy, said: “With the funding, we plan to purchase gym equipment for the club and hope to get a trampette that we can use in class to help dancers practice their jumps and acrobatic skills.
“It’s not something we currently have, so it will make a big difference to our dancers and their training. We’re hoping to buy one on wheels so we can use it across our various venues, which means more our members will be able to benefit from it.
“We also received the same funding award from UK Power Networks last year, so we all really appreciate their support and help.”
