David Warner to represent Delhi Capitals at IPL 2022
In the recently concluded IPL 2022 mega-auction, David Warner was signed by the Capitals of Delhi for Rs. 6.25 crores. Considering Warner’s stellar IPL record, it was a bargain for the Capitals to acquire him for less than 10 Cr. On the first day of the mega-auction, DC co-owner Parth Jindal said:
“I can’t believe we have such a legend at Rs 6.25 crore”. The veteran drummer would certainly be eager to form a deadly opening duo with youngster Prithvi Shaw, for the Delhi side.
In 150 IPL matches, Warner scored 5,449 runs, including four centuries and 50 half centuries. He has more points in the IPL than any other foreign player. Warner’s IPL career began playing for the Delhi Daredevils, where he played from 2009 to 2013, before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Australian fly-half has won Cap Orange three times during his time with SRH. He even led the Sunrisers to an IPL title in 2016.
